JAMB Exam To Hold Twice A Year, Result To Last For 3 Years — House Of Reps
The House of Representatives has adopted a motion seeking JAMB examination to be conducted twice a year, and the result is valid for 3 years.
The motion, moved by Akintunde Rotimi at the plenary on Wednesday, said no matter how good an applicant’s grades are, the result is often forfeit if the said applicant is unable to secure admission that year.

Rotimi went ahead to note that regular ASUU strikes are among the reasons why some students fail to secure admission in a given year and that if JAMB results can last upto 3 years, students will not be made to suffer the brunts of industrial actions.
He said the backlog of candidates waiting for admissions into the limited vacancies in Nigeria’s tertiary institutions and its attendant pressure on the education system and parents was worrisome.

Adopting the motion, the House urged the Federal Minister of Education to put mechanisms in place to ensure that the resolutions are executed.
