Many Young Military Personnel Have Reached Out To Me, Ready To Join Nationwide Protest — Sowore Reveals
Omoyele Sowore, a prominent activist and former presidential candidate, revealed that numerous young military personnel have expressed their willingness to join the upcoming nationwide protest against bad governance, scheduled for August 1st.
Speaking to over twenty thousand Nigerians on X Space, Sowore addressed the rally in a message titled “Citizens or Slaves.”
During his speech, Sowore disclosed that he has been approached by several young members of the military who are eager to participate in the protest.
He stated, “Many young military personnel have reached out to me, saying they want to join the protest and that they will do whatever it takes to prevent their colleagues from shooting any protester, even if it will cost them their own lives.”
The proposed protest aims to address widespread concerns over governance and societal issues in Nigeria.
Sowore’s revelation has further exposed the growing discontent within various segments of society, including the military, and highlights the lengths to which some are willing to go to ensure the safety and success of the protest.
As the date for the demonstration approaches, the involvement of military personnel could significantly impact its dynamics and the response from authorities. The situation remains unknown, with many watching closely to see how events unfold in the coming days.
