At the time of reporting, News Week Nigeria has been unable to independently confirm the authenticity of the claims, as efforts to reach Tambuwal for comment have so far been unsuccessful.
However, if the rally is indeed confirmed, it is expected to take place at the same venue where supporters of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), had planned to host a separate political event.

The political atmosphere in Bayelsa has been tense in recent days, as rival camps align themselves for separate rallies scheduled to take place on April 12.

These events are being organized by factions backing Governor Douye Diri and those supporting Wike, and they are set to unfold at the same location, intensifying the political climate in the region.
The pro-Wike rally is being led by George Turnah, who aims to launch a political group called “The New Associates,” Bayelsa chapter. Despite warnings from Governor Diri that the rally could exacerbate political tensions and lead to violence, Turnah has remained firm in his intention to proceed with the event.

In response to this, Diri’s supporters, under the banner of the ‘Izon Keme-Ama Assembly,’ have announced their own rally at the same venue and time. Titled the ‘Assured Prosperity Rally in Appreciation of His Excellency Senator Douye Diri’s Unprecedented Achievements in Bayelsa State,’ this event is also expected to attract a number of dignitaries.
Tony Nathan Ile, the convener of the pro-Diri rally, has appealed to all Izon sons and daughters, both within and outside Bayelsa, to attend the event in support of the governor’s accomplishments.
Governor Diri has recently held meetings with Bayelsa elders and security officials, raising concerns that the pro-Wike rally could escalate political unrest, especially in light of the ongoing crisis in neighboring Rivers State.
The Rivers crisis, reportedly linked to Wike, has already led to a state of emergency being declared in the state.
As of now, the police have yet to make a statement on the developing situation. With the two rallies scheduled for the same time and location, political tensions in Bayelsa are expected to reach new heights as supporters of both camps gear up for the highly anticipated events.
