NEWSWEEK NIGERIA has been closely following the unfolding developments, reporting that party members are increasingly agitated over Ikem’s leadership.

The state financial secretary, Edadi Chris, has been one of the most vocal critics, accusing Ikem of mismanaging party affairs and placing personal interests above those of the party.

Chris, alongside other party members, claims that Ikem’s leadership has been detrimental to the PDP’s cohesion and success in the state.

Chris has highlighted several grievances, accusing the embattled chairman of being disconnected from the party’s core members and ineffective in leading the PDP.

“He stands alone among the fourteen members of the State Working Committee (SWC),” Chris stated. He further alleged that any support Ikem still retains within the party is driven by financial incentives, reportedly funneled through Hon. Peter Akpanke, a prominent party leader.
