UNICROSS Begins First Semester Examinations After Rescheduling

The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has commenced its first semester examinations for the 2025/2026 academic session, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s revised academic calendar.

 

The examinations began on Monday following an earlier postponement from the initial date of February 23, 2026. The adjustment was made by the university management to allow students additional time to complete their course registration and other academic requirements before sitting for the examinations.

 

According to a statement contained in Circular No. 508 issued on February 17, 2026, the Registrar of the institution, Catherine Osai, explained that the rescheduling was necessary to ensure that all students, particularly newly admitted ones, had enough time to finalize their registration processes.

 

The circular also highlighted that the revised schedule would enable students obtain their official identification cards, which are compulsory for gaining access to examination halls across the university.

 

With the new arrangement in place, final year students from various faculties and departments commenced their examinations smoothly on Monday. The start of the examinations also comes after concerns within the university community over delayed salary payments to non-academic staff were resolved.
