UNICROSS Alumni: What Inyali Peter Seeks To Correct
The last few days, precisely after the adoption of the amended Alumni Constitution and the subsequent expression of interest by Inyali Peter to contest for President of the Association, have witnessed vehement debates by members of this noble body.
Two cliques have since been formed:

One – a small clique of renegades in the illusion of of ‘Kingmakers’ overtly displaying some sort of illegality, attempting to submerge the Alumni’s constitution under the impotent ‘peace accord’ orchestrated by an insignificant few. Their selfish reason: To continue to feast fat from the Alumni’s treasury at the detriment of the overall weal of the Association and its members; an unholy matrimony that has lasted for the past 16 years of the Alumni’s nascent existence, with a sheer history of ‘share the money.’
The other group – people of repute and goodwill who uphold the supremacy of the constitution above every other primordial dwarfism.
This group of people, where Inyali Peter enjoys massive support, are of the opinion that the Association must align itself with international best practices by organising an election for members to choose their leader, against the unpopular opinion of selecting or appointing a president and imposing same on the Association – an abuse to the rights of members.

My dear CRUTITES, we must rise against gerontocracy and chauvinistic sentiments perpetrated by the so-called ‘Elders of the Association” who, for 16 years, have connived and brought our only Alumni Association to its knees. For 16 years, our Alumni Association has only been characterised by negativity: financial impropriety, mismanagement, ostentatious display of ineptitude, visionlessness and mediocrity.
I have always wondered: why people who boast of connection in high places are afraid to test their popularity through a credible, free and fair elections?
My dear people of goodwill, let us stand our grounds for this cause. We are tired of the errors that have bedeviled our Association in 16 years. Something ought to be done and done rightly. That is holding elections and voting for Comrade Inyali Peter – a man who has demonstrated the avowed determination to salvage our Alumni from the vice grip of a select few back to our commonwealth as members of the Association.

They have risen against due process and the overall good of people like the biblical ‘Prophets of Baal.’ But in December, through our sustained efforts and support for Inyali Peter, we will prevail over them. And like like Prophet Elijah did ask the Prophets of Baal (“where is your god?”), we will also ask the enemies of our Association “where is your connection?”
Conclusively, let me urge us to remain resolute in pitching our tents for Inyali Peter. Support for Inyali Peter is support for the growth of our Association. Inyali seeks to relaunch the Association to the part of greatness and stake our claim as an emerging Alumni body in the comity of Universities Alumni Associations.
God bless you all
