U.S. to Strongly Back Atiku in 2027 Presidential Election

Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has predicted that the United States government will throw its weight behind former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.

In a video shared on Facebook, the renowned cleric declared that the upcoming presidential race will be a fierce contest between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, noting that former President Goodluck Jonathan will not be part of the race despite ongoing speculation about his political comeback.

“I say, and I repeat again, Jonathan will not contest,” Ayodele said. “Tinubu should get ready for Atiku, and America will back Atiku seriously, strongly.”

According to Ayodele, the 2027 general election will draw significant global attention, especially from the United States, whose influence, he claimed, will play a decisive role in shaping Nigeria’s political direction. He further hinted that Washington’s relationship with the Tinubu administration could face new strains in the months ahead.

“America has not started with Tinubu’s government. You may be taking my words for a joke,” the cleric warned.

Ayodele, who is known for his outspoken prophecies on national and international affairs, advised President Tinubu to lead with fairness, transparency, and humility, stressing that rising economic hardship and political discontent could erode public confidence in his government.

He urged the administration to focus on stabilizing the economy, addressing insecurity, and strengthening foreign relations to avoid increasing diplomatic and political isolation. “This is not the time for complacency because spiritual and political forces are aligning for a major shift,” he said.
