Members of Nigeria’s National Assembly were left dumbfounded as it emerged that nobody received a copy of the 2024 budget during a critical session.
Reports surfaced, indicating that President Bola Tinubu arrived at the assembly with what was described as an ’empty case’, leaving lawmakers bewildered and discussions in disarray.

According to a post on his verified X account (Twitter), Aliyu Yakubu, who quoted Hon. Yusuf Shitu Galambi, Member representing Gwaram Federal Constituency of Jigawa state, said the Jigawa lawmaker on BBC Hausa this morning, revealed that President Bola Tinubu came with an empty appropriation bill to the National Assembly.
The NNPP lawmaker stated that if the reporter recalls there was no sectoral allocation allocating funds to education, health, and other sectors in the President’s speech.

He blamed the leadership of the National Assembly for their complicity in covering up for the Executive, he wondered why the leadership of the N/A would deliberately connive with the executive to deceive the plenary.
