Obio-Akpor Local Government Area (LGA) Chairman, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo, has sent a strong warning to those responsible for a series of attacks on local government secretariats across Rivers State.

Speaking to a gathering of youths at the Obio-Akpor Local Government Council, Ihunwo directly accused a man known as “Woski” of orchestrating the attacks.
During his address, Ihunwo made it clear that any attempt to destroy the Obio-Akpor Council secretariat would be met with severe consequences.

“They’re going around burning down secretariats. Whoever tries it in Obio-Akpor LGA, his house will be burnt down. We know all their investments and properties,” Ihunwo warned.
This declaration comes in response to a recent wave of attacks targeting local government facilities, sparking concern and unrest throughout the region. Ihunwo’s statement is seen as a firm stance against any future attempts to bring violence and destruction to his LGA.
As part of the gathering, Ihunwo also took the opportunity to announce the renaming of an administrative building within the council to the “Dr. Obi Wali House,” in honor of the revered political leader and activist, Dr. Obi Wali.
