The Kind of Governor Cross River State Needs In 2023
The kind of Governor Cross River State Needs In 2023
As we seek to elect a new Governor come 11th March, 2023, it’s pertinent to note the qualities we require of the man that will steer the ship and lead millions to their eldorado and return us to the part of progress and prosperity as we once had, to the envy of the committee of nations.
We should be looking at one with the right temperament, endowed in all facet with administrative acumen to manage and deploy our lean financial resources prudently devoid of shenaniganism in the name of MOU’s, of white elephant projects with little or no economic values that can stimulate the economy for growth. We need a selfless leader with sincerity of purpose and honesty of intentions.
Cross River Governor, Ben Ayade Swears in Alhaji Musa As Commissioner
We must be ready to come together and choose for ourselves a future path that will translate into total emancipation and freedom from inequity, unfairness, and injustice just like it was in 1999 with Donald Duke, and 2007 in Senator Liyel Imoke. Not another ineptness, selfishness and insatiable penchant for greed as it is currently being experienced.
These two leaders positioned Cross River State on the world map as the cynosure of all eyes. It is still green in our memories how Mr. Duke, brought Cross River State from a pariah status to the pride of the black race. Sen. Imoke’s Rural Development drive is still impacting suburbs and communities in the hinterlands.
The tourism service under Duke and Imoke, was second to none in Nigeria, and was responsible for direct foreign investment, increased internally generated revenue with rise in the GDP. and not the current dearth in infrastructure and a collapsing economy.
The questions are how and where did we get it wrong?
If we want a paradigm shift to provide for good governance, we must support one who has experience and pedigree from both private and public sector on how to manage resources and human capital development.
However, it is necessary to know that, governance is all about the people and the people first!
In the provision of social amenities, Security for both lives and property, equity distribution of scarce resources and it’s prudent management for the better of society.
We need a Governor who can redefine the State and continue in the blueprint of the development of Cross River.
