“As someone familiar with the field, it’s essential to clarify the process and highlight the importance of credential verification,” Esu said.

He explained that when students are admitted into nursing institutions, they are subjected to a thorough credential verification process. This ensures that only those with authentic academic qualifications are allowed to train and eventually practice in the nursing profession.

Esu emphasized the importance of a mandatory six-month training period after which students are indexed by the national regulatory body. This indexing validates their credentials and certifies them for further training and eventual professional practice.

“If a student is found to have submitted fake credentials, they face severe consequences, including expulsion and potential legal action,” he said, stressing that institutions do not refund tuition fees in such cases. “Academic integrity is non-negotiable.”

He further reiterated that the nursing profession demands commitment, discipline, and honesty, and institutions like the College of Nursing Sciences, Ogoja are committed to upholding these values.

The aide urged the public to disregard the misleading claims made in the video and trust the rigorous systems in place to uphold standards in nursing education within the state.
