Salaga South MP Advocates Stronger Ghana–Russia Cooperation at Technoprom Forum

 

Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, Member of Parliament for Salaga South Constituency, has reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to strengthening ties with Russia during her participation at the TECHNOPROM 12 International Forum of Technological Development held in Novosibirsk Region, Siberia, Russia, on August 27, 2025.

 

Addressing delegates at the global forum, Hon. Ibrahimah emphasized Ghana’s readiness to partner with Russia in key areas including education, technology, human development, and scientific research.

She noted that such collaboration would not only benefit Ghana but also contribute to Africa’s broader development agenda.

 

“As a nation, we are determined to leverage Russia’s expertise and resources in advancing our technological and human capacity, while expanding opportunities for Ghanaian students and professionals,” she stated.

 

In her capacity as a member of the Ghana-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Association, the Salaga South legislator also held discussions with Hon. Dimitri, head of the Russia-Africa parliamentary group at the State Duma, on ways to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Beyond her international engagements, Hon. Ibrahimah has a track record of impactful initiatives at home. She serves as Vice Chairperson of Parliament’s Gender Committee, where she champions women’s empowerment and gender equality. She has also spearheaded community development projects, including water supply systems and educational programs in Salaga South.

 

Her diplomatic experience is equally notable, having previously served as Minister-Counsellor and Head of Information and Public Relations at the Ghana High Commission in London.

 

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the first woman to represent Salaga South in parliament, Hon. Ibrahimah continues to play a pivotal role in promoting both local development and international cooperation.
