Rivers Crisis Deepens As Senators, Rep Members Loyal To Wike Hold Secret Meeting with Governor Fubara
The political rift between Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, and the current governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has taken a new turn, with some senators and House of Representatives members allegedly holding a secret meeting with Governor Fubara.
According to a source within the government house who requested anonymity, several National Assembly members who are seen as loyal to Wike met with Fubara in private to discuss their political futures.

The source told News Week Nigeria that the lawmakers’ main concern was securing their return tickets for the 2027 elections, amid uncertainty surrounding their alliance with Wike.
“The national assembly members are holding a meeting with Governor Fubara, to discuss how they can secure their 2027 return tickets,” the source disclosed to News Week Nigeria.
The source further stated that: “The lawmakers are seeking assurance from Governor Fubara for their return tickets.”
