PDP Takes Buhari By Surprise Few Days To Swearing In, Leaks His Top Secret To International Community
Following the results of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, a number of Nigerians have voiced their displeasure with how the Independent National Electoral Commission conducted the election, which resulted in Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress being elected president.
Despite the fact that many Nigerians expressed dissatisfaction with the way the election was conducted, INEC has yet to apologise to Nigerians for breaking the promises it made to them prior to the election.
In the meantime, despite the petitions against Tinubu submitted by Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, President Mohammad Buhari declared earlier this week that nothing will prevent the inauguration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President of Nigeria on May 29th, 2023.
After the election, Buhari said in an interview in Abuja that he would return to his village in Daura, Katsina state, but if people bothered him there, he would leave and enjoy his time in the Niger Republic.
Recall that Buhari claimed PDP’s loss to APC in the presidential election was the result of the party’s arrogance and lack of a political plan.
President Muhammadu Buhari has made comments about the 2023 elections that have sparked a backlash from the PDP, which claims he was gloating over Nigeria’s worst election in recent memory. PDP has also called for the international community to impose visa bans and other travel restrictions on Buhari.
This was stated in a press release given by Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s national publicity secretary, during a briefing in Abuja.
He demanded that the sanctions be extended to everyone involved in tampering with the results of the 2023 elections, accusing President Buhari of trying to coerce the judiciary, which is currently handling electoral petitions, into giving legitimacy to an election that was manifestly flawed.
Debo Olugunagba informed President Muhammadu Buhari that Atiku and the PDP did not lose the presidential election as he claimed and maintained that they would reclaim their mandate through a court of competent jurisdiction. He also urged the international community to forbid Buhari from leaving Nigeria after his May 29th inauguration so that he could properly account for his administration in Nigeria.
Despite the threats, coercion, and manipulation by the APC-led administration, “we are not willing to surrender the mandate freely given to our party by the people.”
