Popular Nigerian clergyman and self-styled “Indaboski,” Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, widely known as Pastor Odumeje, has officially declared his intention to contest in the 2027 presidential elections.

 

The announcement was made during a spirited sermon at his church, the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Addressing a lively congregation, Odumeje described his presidential ambition as a mission to “rescue Nigeria from the hands of old cargoes,” referring to what he sees as a generation of out-of-touch leaders. He called for a new era of digital governance and youthful leadership, vowing to bring innovation and energy to the nation’s top office.

 

“Are you ready for me? Odumeje for president?” he asked, drawing cheers from members of his church. He further outlined his vision to develop key infrastructure, including a signature road he called Citadel, and promised to usher in a modern and digital lifestyle for Nigerians.

 

While he did not disclose the political party under which he intends to run, Odumeje confirmed he has selected a running mate from Northern Nigeria, a move many analysts believe is aimed at building national appeal and balancing the regional dynamics of his ticket.
