Prof. Akin Mabogunje, a well known affiliate of former president Olusegun Obasanjo, has handed away.

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his condolences for the late Professor.
Prof. Mabogunje’s passing “will be greatly felt by the nation, especially the academia,” based on a press release by Femi Adesina, the Special Advisor to the President on Media and Publicity.
Buhari additionally expressed his condolences to Prof. Mabogunje’s household, associates, and colleagues.

Professor of geography Akin Mabogunje is a well known and revered mental from Nigeria.
