North Korea warns U.S and European Union, says any attempt to join Israel war against Iran will be catastrophic

North Korea warns the United States and European Union against joining Israel’s war with Iran.

North Korea issued a stern warning on Wednesday to the United States and European Union, cautioning that any move to support Israel in its escalating conflict with Iran would lead to “catastrophic consequences.”

The warning follows Israel’s recent military strikes on Iranian targets, which have sparked six consecutive days of missile exchanges between the two nations.

In a statement published by the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), a spokesperson for North Korea’s foreign ministry condemned the Israeli attacks as “a crime against humanity” and accused Israel of carrying out “illegal state-sponsored terrorism” with the backing of Western powers. The spokesperson further claimed that the strikes have caused widespread civilian casualties and destabilized the already volatile Middle East.

“The reckless and unilateral aggression by Israel, supported by the United States and European powers, is dragging the region to the brink of full-scale war,” the North Korean official said, expressing “serious concern” over the ongoing violence.

According to regional reports, Israel’s strikes—aimed at crippling Iran’s nuclear capabilities—have resulted in at least 224 Iranian deaths, including military personnel and civilians. Israel, meanwhile, has reported 24 fatalities and hundreds more wounded, many of them civilians.

North Korea, which has recently deepened its strategic ties with Russia—a key ally of Iran—has taken a sharply critical stance against Western involvement in Middle Eastern affairs. Pyongyang has also voiced unwavering support for Moscow’s actions in Ukraine, underscoring its alignment with countries opposing U.S. global influence.

The statement comes as Washington weighs its options. While President Donald Trump has not yet committed to a military response, he has warned that continued conflict could result in “the fall of Iran’s leadership.” North Korea urged the U.S. and its allies to exercise restraint and avoid fanning the flames of war.

“The international community must prevent the Middle East from spiraling into an uncontrollable catastrophic phase,” the North Korean spokesperson warned. “Any military intervention by the U.S. or EU will only exacerbate the crisis and further endanger global peace and security.”

The international response to North Korea’s warning has been cautious, as world leaders assess the potential for the Israel-Iran conflict to escalate into a broader regional—or even global—confrontation. With alliances tightening and rhetoric intensifying, the path forward remains perilously uncertain.
