No amount of rigging can save Tinubu in 2027, formidable coalition underway — Kwankwaso declares
Former Kano State Governor and leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has thrown down the gauntlet ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that a powerful political coalition is being forged to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a fiery press statement that has stirred political conversations nationwide, Kwankwaso accused the APC of failing the Nigerian people and vowed never to return to the party he once helped build.

“The APC has inflicted immense hardship on Nigerians. I would rather quit politics entirely than return to a party that has lost both moral ground and historical relevance,” Kwankwaso said, responding to reported overtures from President Tinubu to rejoin the APC.

According to Kwankwaso, Tinubu personally reached out to him multiple times, both directly and through intermediaries, with promises of complete negotiation flexibility. “All terms will be fulfilled; all conditions will be like pupils in your hands,” Kwankwaso quoted the president as saying.

But the former senator dismissed these offers outright, citing the APC’s track record under both Tinubu and former President Muhammadu Buhari. He highlighted worsening insecurity, rising hunger, youth unemployment, economic collapse, and entrenched corruption as evidence of failed governance.
A New Coalition Emerges
With an eye on the 2027 elections, Kwankwaso revealed he is working with “like-minded patriots” to build a “broad-based political movement” that aims to challenge the APC’s hold on power. He described the effort as a transformative coalition that will cut across ethnic, religious, and regional divides, bringing together Nigerians—especially the youth—around a shared vision of justice, equity, and progress.

“This movement will not just be about winning elections. It will be about uprooting the politics of deception and replacing it with one of hope, vision, and action,” Kwankwaso declared.
In his most striking remark, the NNPP leader asserted that “no amount of rigging” or elite political maneuvering will be able to save the Tinubu administration in 2027.
“Nigerians are watching. They are suffering. And they will speak decisively at the ballot box,” he warned.

A Call to Patriots
Kwankwaso extended an invitation to all Nigerians who value competent leadership and national renewal to join the coalition.
He stressed that the ultimate goal is not just to defeat the APC, but to “rebuild Nigeria from the ruins it has been plunged into by years of failed leadership.”

Addressing Tinubu directly, Kwankwaso thanked him for his attempts at reconciliation but reiterated his allegiance to Nigeria over any political party. “I remain committed to the cause of a better, stronger, and united Nigeria,” he concluded.
The statement, signed by Hon. Ibrahim Rabiu, Senior Special Reporter to the Kano State Governor on Transportation, has already begun to reverberate across Nigeria’s political landscape, signaling what may become a major realignment ahead of 2027.
