The National Patriotic Front (NPF) has formally named Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, as its Grand Patron, following a courtesy visit to his office by the leadership of the group.
The Director-General of the NPF, Castro Ezama, led the delegation to confer the honorary title on the minister, describing the meeting as a “rare privilege” and an opportunity to engage on issues critical to national development.
According to Ezama, discussions during the visit focused on strategies to promote peace, unity, and stability across the country. He said the organisation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting efforts aimed at strengthening national cohesion and security.
Ezama praised the minister’s leadership qualities, describing him as soft-spoken and highly intelligent. He noted that the appointment of General Musa to serve as Minister of Defence has brought renewed confidence to the nation’s security architecture.
During the meeting, General Musa expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for entrusting him with the responsibility of overseeing the nation’s defence portfolio. He also acknowledged his previous service as Chief of Defence Staff and reiterated his commitment to advancing policies that will safeguard Nigeria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Members of the delegation congratulated the minister on his achievements and offered prayers for wisdom and strength as he continues to serve in his current capacity.
Ezama maintained that President Tinubu’s decision to appoint General Musa as Minister of Defence was well considered, expressing optimism that the country would continue to witness progress under his stewardship.
“May Nigeria succeed,” Ezama stated, underscoring the group’s hope for sustained peace and national development.
