On Monday, August 1, at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State and Muhammadu Sanusi II, a former emir of Kano, met.

Since Ganduje deposed Sanusi in 2020, that is the primary time the Governor and former Emir have been photographed collectively.

The former Emir and Ganduje have been seen shaking palms at an airport lounge in a short video documenting their interplay whereas the Governor smiled.

Meanwhile, Sanusi Lamido, the 14th Emir of Kano, has described vote shopping for as an evil pressure that imperils the integrity of the nation’s democratic system.

On Sunday, Sanusi gave a digital lecture at Penpushing Media’s fourth anniversary lecture on the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, Ogun State, as regards to “Social Media Regulation: Insecurity and Elections Accountability in Nigeria.”

He asserts that vote-buying is towards democratic rules and contemptuous to the democratic system and the validity of the vote.

Sanusi expressed explicit alarm on the show of thumb-printed ballots by voters as proof of their barter of votes for political favors.
