Kwankwaso noted that “Gov. Yusuf should have read the handwriting on the wall, analyzed the various pieces of evidence used by the Tribunal to sack him, adding that those pieces of evidence are convincing, and it would be very difficult for the court to neglect in ruling.

Kwankwaso Congratulates Kano APC Governorship Candidate over Appeal Court victory, urges sacked Yusuf to accept defeat
Kwankwaso has called on the incumbent governor of Kano state to accept defeat.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former commissioner for rural and community development, Alhaji (Dr) Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso, has called on the incumbent governor of Kano state, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to honourably accept defeat handed over by the Appeal Court in Abuja and not venture the case to the Supreme Court.

He said, “It would be another mission impossible for him to drag the case to the Supreme Court, going by the available evidence that nailed him at both the Tribunal and the Appeal Court. Hence, the need for him to go and rest until 2027.”
This is just as he hailed the victory of the APC governorship candidate, Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, describing his affirmation as governor-elect as a triumph of democracy and the rule of law.

Kwankwaso, who made the call while reacting to the Appeal Court in Abuja that sacked Governor Yusuf again, said he (Yusuf) should have accepted the ruling of the governorship election tribunal in good faith, but it’s sad that he went ahead to waste the meagre resources of the state at the Appeal Court.
He mentioned that the Appeal Court also nullified his election, and it’s better for him to settle down and be prepared to re-contest in 2023 under a viable political party.
Kwankwaso noted that “Gov. Yusuf should have read the handwriting on the wall, analyzed the various pieces of evidence used by the Tribunal to sack him, adding that those pieces of evidence are convincing, and it would be very difficult for the court to neglect in ruling.

“As a brother, I am using this medium to advise him to shelve any move to drag his defeat to the Supreme Court but should just know that this is not the time for him to be the governor of the state.
He, however, disclosed that he is ready to pitch a tent with the ruling party, APC. The door is open for him, so that he would come for proper learning of democracy. The APC would groom him for any available future political appointment.”
Kwankwaso, while congratulating Dr. Gawuna over his victory at the Appeal Court, called on him and the deputy governor-elect, Alhaji Sule Garo, to be prepared on how to govern the state.

He added that the teeming masses of the state were convinced that both were tested and trusted personalities, and they believed they would not waste much time rewriting the wrongs presently committed by the sacked governor.
Kwankwaso then commended all loyal members of the party, especially the national chairman of the APC, for their unflinching support and encouragement throughout the trying period of the case.
