Kenyan Man Lectures Nigerian Youth on True Meaning of Infrastructure Amid Protests
Amid ongoing protests against bad governance in Kenya, President William Ruto hosted a Twitter (X) space, to engage with the youths.
The meeting attracted over 134,000 participants, many whom voiced strong criticism and frustrations. Some called President Ruto a liar and demanded the dismissal of his cabinet.
Amidst this heated exchange, a Kenyan youth identified as Awang’ Mach gained attention with his series of comments under a post made by Africa Facts Zone. Awang passionately defended the ongoing protest, adding that Kenyan youth were resolute in their demands for good governance, contrasting their efforts with those of Nigerian youth.
He wrote: “We are not done yet. We will not be lied to. We are not Nigerians. We will do what it takes”
Awang went on to criticize the Nigerian government, calling it “the most corrupt in the world” and accusing Nigerians of prioritizing cultural achievements over political accountability.
In response, a Nigerian youth, identified as “UNIQ” @South_Marine, defended his compatriots, asserting that Nigerians would not destroy infrastructure as Kenyans purportedly had.
He wrote: “We won’t destroy our infrastructure like your country did, we will protest in an organized way”.
Awang retorted with a sharp lecture on the true meaning of infrastructure, clarifying that it comprises of essential public services and facilities, not the luxurious lifestyles of politicians.
He wrote: “Politicians’ mansions and flashy cars are not infrastructure. Infrastructure is good schools, hospitals, roads, uninterrupted electricity & water supply, jobs availability, and good governance. Do you have to be reminded of that?”.
