Representatives of the campaign of former Nigerian Vice President Atiku Abubakar have held discussions with officials of the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump during a meeting in the United States, according to a U.S.-based advisory firm.
The engagement was confirmed by the policy advisory firm Von Batten-Montague York on its official X account, which stated that members of the Trump-aligned side of U.S. political circles met with senior members of Atiku’s campaign team.
In a detailed post attributed to Dr. Von Batten, the firm said the discussions focused on key governance and security concerns affecting Nigeria, particularly insecurity and election integrity.

“This week, I attended a meeting between members of the @atiku campaign and the @realDonaldTrump Administration. A host of issues were discussed, with insecurity and election integrity being the two key interconnected issues,” the statement read.
The firm further argued that the issues raised affect Nigerians across religious lines, stating that both Christians and Muslims are impacted by insecurity in the country.
It also criticised the Nigerian government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alleging that it has failed to adequately address national security challenges and instead focused on responding to external commentary.

“The Nigerian government under @officialABAT has failed all Nigerians, Christians and Muslims alike, and appears more focused on responding to everything we do and say instead of focusing on delivering a better future for Nigeria and preventing further bloodshed,” the statement added.
The advisory firm also referenced the role of Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, claiming he had engaged with U.S. officials including Senator JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio on issues related to religious safety in Nigeria.
According to the statement, the discussions in the U.S. emphasised insecurity, religious harmony, and what it described as declining public confidence in governance.

The firm concluded by expressing support for Atiku Abubakar, stating that he remains, in its assessment, the political figure best positioned to unify Nigeria and address its security and governance challenges.
