A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholder, Dr. Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making significant progress in the fight against insecurity following the rescue of 176 abducted residents in Kwara State.
Kwankwaso, who is also the Director of Finance at the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA), described the rescue of residents of Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area as evidence that the Federal Government is winning the battle against kidnapping, banditry and insurgency.
In a statement personally signed and issued to journalists in Kano, Kwankwaso welcomed the rescue of the victims, who were abducted on February 3.

He said the successful operation demonstrated the commitment of the Tinubu administration to restoring security across the country.
“The recent rescuing of the 176 residents of Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, from the clutches of bandits is an eloquent testimony that President Bola Tinubu is winning the war against kidnapping, banditry, insurgency and other forms of criminalities in the country,” he said.
Kwankwaso dismissed criticism from opposition politicians, insisting that Tinubu remained focused on addressing the country’s security challenges.

“Irrespective of what the opposition are saying, the President remains focused and resolute in his determination to free the country from the lingering security challenges so that Nigerians will continue to live their lives without let or hindrance,” he added.
According to him, the Federal Government’s security efforts are particularly being noticed in Northern Nigeria, where he claimed the development would translate into increased support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
“The President’s efforts at securing the country are clearly being witnessed, especially by Northerners who will surely reciprocate the good gesture by massively voting for him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election,” Kwankwaso said.

He also expressed confidence that Tinubu’s supporters would turn out in large numbers to support him despite what he described as negative social media propaganda against the administration.
Kwankwaso urged opposition parties and their supporters to acknowledge what he called the Federal Government’s recent breakthroughs in tackling insecurity rather than dismissing the progress.
He commended President Tinubu, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, the Ministers of Defence and the service chiefs for their roles in the rescue operation.
The APC chieftain said the successful operation was a sign that the country could eventually overcome its security challenges.
The Kwara State Government had earlier announced the rescue through its official Facebook page, describing it as a major breakthrough while commending President Tinubu, security agencies and others involved in the operation.
The rescue, carried out by Nigerian military personnel, brought an end to months of uncertainty and anguish for the victims’ families and their communities.
