A philanthropist par excellence and Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Garagams Holdings PLC, Chief Barr Chris Agara has brought succor to the Bakor nation by attracting and facilitating United Nations (UN) sponsored Sustainable Development projects in the Nta/Nselle Ward in Ikom LGA of Cross River State, Nigeria.

A grand ceremony was held at Nselle community in Nta/Nselle ward, Ikom Local Government Area to mark the commencement of the development programme. The event was well attended by many dignitaries among whom were the Executive Chairman of Ikom LGA, Hon. Kingsley Egumi, the project facilitator, Chief Barr Chris Agara, representatives of the United Nations, Chiefs, opinion leaders, women, and youths.

Speaking at the ceremony, the facilitator, Chief Barr. Chris Agara said the importance of the project to the Bakor nation can not be overemphasized. He revealed that when the project is fully functional, it would provide healthcare, potable water, renewable energy (electricity) supply, and skills acquisition to the rural communities of Bakor.

Furthermore, he explained that the UN project, which is the second of its kind in Nigeria, uses Israeli technology to transform rural communities. The philanthropist noted that the aim of the project is to encourage the development of the Bakor Nation and empower the rural communities.
This is just one of the numerous developmental strides and philanthropic gestures of this notable son of Bakor nation, Chief Barr. Chris Agara, that is worthy of commendation. This is because the project has far-reaching consequences on the development of the Bakor people. Bakor is an ethnic group that spans Ikom and Ogoja LGAs.
