ICAN Engages UNICROSS Leadership on Academic Collaboration
A delegation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Calabar District Society, on Wednesday, March 26, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), Prof. Francisca Bassey, to explore opportunities for institutional collaboration and professional development in accounting education.
Led by Elder Gershom Davis, Secretary of the District Society who represented the Chairman, Dr. Glory Effiom, the delegation highlighted ICAN’s role in advancing accounting practice and outlined plans to strengthen engagement with the University. Key proposals included the establishment of an ICAN training centre in Calabar and collaboration to secure accreditation for the University’s Accountancy programme. Elder Davis emphasized that accreditation would enhance graduates’ professional prospects and facilitate their transition to chartered status.
