One of the affected projects was the rehabilitation of the Degema Street Road in Old Port Harcourt, which had been in progress under Governor Sim Fubara’s administration until it was abruptly halted due to Wike’s directive.

Tear that document into pieces and throw it into the trash can — Sule Lamido tells Fubara

Kalama expressed the disappointment of residents who had initially celebrated the ongoing work, only to witness its suspension, causing inconvenience and dissatisfaction among the populace.

Reflecting on the recent completion of the road rehabilitation, Kalama emphasized the positive impact on the people of Rivers State.

Despite the setback caused by the suspension of projects, Kalama conveyed the resilience and hopefulness of the residents, acknowledging Governor Sim Fubara’s efforts and the belief that providence will ultimately ensure the best outcomes for the state.

He wrote: Dear Rivers People, “Indeed Gov Siminalayi Fubara wasn’t a governor until 30th October 2023 ( Rivers State Liberation Day) I remember making a post with excitement (As seen on the first slide of the image attached ) about the Degema Street Road in Old Port Harcourt which was inspected by H.E Siminalayi Fubara and the immediate past Commissioner for Works, the work was going on until the unusual happened and the former Governor instructed all projects initiated by Gov Sim to be cancelled and contractors to leave the site.”

Did Governor Fubara really sign the peace document for resolution at the Abuja Meeting?

“People of God the road was abandoned in its bad state and residents felt so bad and felt the Governor was playing a fast on them Little did they know that he wasn’t the cause of the suspension of projects. It became difficult for me to take that route because I once interviewed residents around when the project was ongoing and they expressed 100% joy and satisfaction until the project was suspended, I couldn’t fave them because the questions of why were too much for me to answer.”

“But in all, we Give God all the glory as the road rehabilitation has commenced and been completed for the benefit of Rivers people.”

“Yesterday, I was there and got some reactions from the people and they said indeed Gov Sim is God sent to the entire Rivers State, tho they were sad about the purported agreement claimed to be signed by the Governor but they said they are not losing hope because they know God is in charge and he will do the best for Rivers people.”
