Hon. Chief Douglas Ogar Bags Honorary Doctorate Alongside Prominent Nigerian Leaders

Hon. Chief Douglas Ogar, popularly known as Wan Osowo, has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in Business Policy and Strategic Management by the British American Open University of California, marking a significant milestone in his leadership and public service journey.

The honour was awarded on 20th December 2025, following due approval by the Council and Senate of the University.

The prestigious recognition places Hon. Chief Douglas Ogar among a distinguished group of national figures honoured at the same time. Other awardees include Governor Alex Otti of Abia State; Professor Babagana Zulum, Governor of Borno State; Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State; Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State; and His Eminence, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Emir of Sokoto.

Being honoured alongside such eminent leaders underscores the national relevance and impact of Hon. Ogar’s contributions.

According to the University, the honorary doctorate was conferred in recognition of Hon. Ogar’s outstanding leadership qualities, strategic vision, and sustained commitment to community development, good governance, and human capital advancement.
