Guber Polls: Cross River Youths Endorse Back-to-South, Insists Otu More Competent, Sellable 

 

 

Youths in Cross River State under the aegis of the Cross River State Youth Parliament on Thursday rounded up its Southern Senatorial district engagement tour with various local government parliaments.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Gideon Mbukpaled the state delegation to the Akpabuyo Youth Parliament for another round of sensitization of local government legislators on why young people, especially Cross Riverians, must stand very firmly for equity, justice, and fairness for peaceful power transition in Cross River State

The Speaker warned about the repercussions of abandoning this effort and said that since the South had already waited for 16 years, it was only reasonable for the power flow to go there for coexistence and productivity.

He said:

“Sen. Prince Otu, who is from the south, has demonstrated that he is a very persuasive and capable leader. His track record is available for review by the public, and Prince has been very deliberate in emancipating young people while serving in the House of Representatives by building significant infrastructure, creating jobs, developing human capital, building educational facilities, and more. If given the opportunity to be governor, Prince will go even further.”

He told the Akpabuyo Youth Parliament to do justice by mobilizing for the candidate of the APC on Saturday and ensure they come out en masse to vote and sustain the back to South agitation. 

 

He said:

 

The South has competent hands who, in diverse ways, have shown strength and commitment to liberate the future the next generational leaders.”

He reassured the people that Prince Otu wouldn’t let the young Cross Riverians down and added that Otu had taken time out of his busy schedule to address the concerns of the Cross River State Youth Parliament and deserved their support.

Also speaking, the acting Leader of the Akpabuyo Youth Parliament, Hon. Utibe-Abasi Duke, said that equity, justice, and fairness must be sustained, and, the people of Akpabuyo in totality, support the back to the South.

Hon. Emmanuel Ekpeyong, the caucus chairman of South in Cross River State youth parliament, said though, he is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, but in total support of the Back to South agenda, for equity. He urged Cross Riverians to come out on Saturday and vote for Prince Bassey Otu.

Cross River State Youth Parliament during an engagement tour to Odukpani LGA, agreed that the South should be given a chance to have their turn.

The back to South – Agenda 2023 was embraced wholeheartedly by the youth, who spoke with one voice.

The event took place at the Pavilion of the Odukpani Local Government Council. Speaker of the Cross River State Youth Parliament, Rt. Hon. Gideon Mbukpa, as well as members of his entourage, Hon. Alex Effiong and the state Rep. Odukpani Youth Parliament, were present.

Also, the honorable members from each of the 13 wards in the Odukpani youth parliament, led by Engr. Hon. Nsa Charles, were present.
