Group Decries Poor State of Federal Roads in Cross River, Urges FG for Swift Action
The Cross River State Patriotic Front (CRSPF) has raised alarm over the deplorable condition of federal roads across the state, calling on the Federal Government to act swiftly to address the issue.
In a statement signed by its Director General, Castro Ezama, the group urged the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, to prioritize road infrastructural development in the state and to urgently allocate the resources needed to rehabilitate the failing road networks.

“The state of roads in Cross River is a pressing concern that affects the daily lives of citizens, hinders economic growth, and compromises safety,” the statement read. “As members of the Cross River State Patriotic Front, we are compelled to bring this issue to the attention of the Hon. Minister of Works.”
Ezama stressed that the current road conditions were not only a threat to lives but were also stalling commercial activities and connectivity within and beyond the state.
“The poor state of federal roads in Cross River State demands urgent attention,” the group noted. “We urge the Hon. Minister of Works to act swiftly and ensure that road rehabilitation projects are fast-tracked. We submit this appeal with the hope that concrete actions will follow.”

CRSPF warned that if not addressed urgently, the deteriorating infrastructure could further isolate rural communities and worsen the socio-economic challenges facing residents of the state.
The group concluded by reaffirming its commitment to advocating for better infrastructure and improved quality of life for Cross River citizens, urging both state and federal authorities to treat the issue as a matter of national importance.
