The Special Assistant to the Governor of Cross River State on Nursing , Mr. Esu Coco-Bassey, recently visited St. Joseph Cottage Hospital Ikot Ene to assess the state of nursing affairs and the hospital’s overall condition.
During the visit, he reassured health workers of Governor Apostle Sen Prince Bassey Otu’s commitment to addressing the hospital’s infrastructure challenges, which were exacerbated by the EndSARS crisis.

Mr. Coco-Bassey highlighted the Governor’s efforts to tackle security issues in the area, ensuring a smooth working environment for staff, and emphasized that the administration is working to renovate the hospital and its quarters. He encouraged health workers to maintain their dedication to providing quality care, noting that the Governor is actively addressing pressing issues, including recent employment opportunities – with the first batch of health workers already employed – as well as salaries and promotions for health workers.
