Governor Lamido backs coalition, but vows to stay in PDP and fight for its survival
A former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, says he is ready to support any democratic effort by patriotic Nigerians to remove President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Lamido said this during an interview with Vanguard in Abuja on Wednesday.

Lamido noted that while he supports the coming together of opposition parties under the African Democratic Congress, led by Senator David Mark, he will not leave the Peoples Democratic Party which he helped build.
He said it would be wrong to abandon the PDP for those he described as “ingrates” who want to destroy the party.
Lamido said, “Yes. I’m open to any arrangement that can confront the All Progressives Congress and rescue Nigeria. I’ll support those who share that goal. I’ll campaign with them. But my platform is the PDP. Even though it’s very sick, I will stay and fight for its survival.”

On Senator David Mark’s decision to leave the PDP, Lamido said, “David Mark made his sacrifice by stepping away.
“Mine is different. I choose to stay and fight. We’re all making sacrifices in different ways for the same objective.
“My take is simple: I want a united, secure, safe, and prosperous Nigeria. That’s what I truly want.”

He also said the PDP will still stand strong, despite the actions of Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, and his allies, who he believes are trying to weaken the party.
Lamido claimed Wike and others are working with Tinubu and the APC to benefit from PDP’s downfall if the party is destroyed
