In a bid to boost morale and assess the healthcare infrastructure, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Nursing, Mr. Coco-Bassey, Esu paid a working visit to the Tuberculosis and Leprosy (TBL) Cottage Hospital in Obubra.
During his visit, Mr. Coco-Bassey Esu assured health workers of the government’s commitment to infrastructural development in all hospitals, including TBLs, which have been neglected over time. He emphasized that the government, under the leadership of Governor Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, is dedicated to improving healthcare infrastructure.

The Special Assistant also highlighted the importance of mentorship, noting that experienced health workers should play a crucial role in guiding younger professionals as they navigate their careers. He lauded health workers for their achievements in caring for people living with Tuberculosis and Leprosy and other related diseases based on data received.
The Head of Nursing Services, Mrs. Esther Ofutet, expressed gratitude for Mr. Coco-Bassey’s visit, seeing it as a sign that the government is committed to transforming the hospital. She also appreciated the earlier visit by the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Henry Ajuk.
Mrs. Florence Ayang, TBL Focal Person, shared the success story of the hospital’s referral system, which has been achieved through partnerships with partners,donors, and other institutions.
