In a remarkable show of commitment to education and youth development, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, representing Cross River South Senatorial District, has facilitated a $400,000 foreign scholarship for ten young Cross Riverians from his constituency.

This initiative, part of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) postgraduate scholarship program, will enable each recipient to receive $40,000 (N64 million) to pursue postgraduate degrees at prestigious universities in Europe and the United States.
This is the second batch of scholarships championed by Senator Ekpenyong.
In the first batch, he successfully facilitated $280,000 for seven scholars who are currently enrolled in various international universities.

Inyali Peter, Ph.D., praised the Senator’s efforts, likening these scholarships to “solid meal tickets” that will secure the beneficiaries’ futures.
“We don’t have many Cross Riverians who have delved into some of these fields which are some of the most in-demand in today’s labor market,” he noted, emphasizing the impact of the initiative.
