Former Opposition Party Leaders, CNPP to Hold Mega Unity Rally for Governor Otu in Calabar
In a show of growing political solidarity, leaders of former opposition political parties, in collaboration with the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP), have announced plans to stage a mega unity rally in support of Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu.
The rally, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in Calabar, is being organized under the theme “One Unity! One Love!!” Organizers say the event is designed not only to galvanize support for Governor Otu’s administration but also to demonstrate broad-based backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s anticipated re-election campaign.

“This rally represents a new chapter for Cross River politics,” one of the organizers stated. “It’s about moving beyond party lines to support leadership that prioritizes development, stability, and the welfare of the people.”
Governor Otu, who assumed office in 2023, has received praise from various quarters for his policies on economic revitalization, infrastructure, and inclusive governance.
