Emmanuel Mbora, the ex-chapter chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Calabar Municipality, is facing serious allegations of financial misappropriation and embezzlement

A reliable source within the party disclosed that Mbora, who once held the position of chapter chairman, failed to fulfill his duty of remitting the monthly payments earmarked for the party’s chapter officers.

The undisclosed funds, amounting to N500,000 per month and paid over a seven-month period, were purportedly embezzled by Mbora without the approval of the chapter representatives.

The source posed critical questions, questioning Mbora’s involvement with Chief Felix Idem and insinuating Idem’s potential role in the alleged misconduct.

The source raised concerns about the chapter officer’s authority and speculated on whether Chief Felix Idem, the natural political leader of Calabar municipality LGA APC, had any connection to Mbora’s actions

The accusations escalated as the source further highlighted Mbora’s alleged orchestration of an attack on the chapter secretary, involving the deployment of thugs and planting a gun on the victim.

The party insiders, who claim a vote of no confidence, have been passed on Mbora in accordance with the party’s constitution, pressed for answers on the involvement of Chief Felix Idem in these controversial events.

Adding fuel to the fire, the source brought attention to the purported illegal taxation and extortion of market traders at the Ika Ika Oqua market.

These actions, it is claimed, have cast a negative light on the party. The source called on Mbora to take responsibility for his actions, insinuating a need for accountability in the face of these allegations.
