Even If You Give Tinubu 30 Years, Nothing Will Work – Daniel Bwala

Former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council, Daniel Bwala, has said that the administration of President Bola Tinubu may not achieve meaningful results, no matter how much time is given.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Bwala argued that even if President Tinubu were given 30 years in office, his policies would still fail to yield positive outcomes for Nigerians.

Bwala, who made the remark while still a member of the PDP and a spokesperson for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar during the 2023 presidential election, drew parallels between the current administration and that of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He recalled how Nigerians were told to be patient during Buhari’s tenure, only to end up disappointed after eight years of hardship and unfulfilled promises.

“When people talk about being patient and waiting, you have to look at the time frame the public officer is expected to execute the work,” Bwala said. “The President has just been voted into a term of four years. He is eight months into the term, which constitutes 31.8 percent of the total time that he has.”

He noted that despite being almost a year into his term, Tinubu’s administration has yet to show any tangible improvement in the lives of Nigerians.

“When there is a fundamental problem with policy, time is irrelevant — even if you give him 30 years, it will not work,” Bwala added.

According to him, most economists have already faulted the 2024 budget, describing it as unrealistic and incapable of driving meaningful growth.

“We want to see deliverables. Nigerians are tired of English, Mathematics, Economics, Science, and Technology. We want to see practical things,” Bwala stated.

He emphasized that Nigerians are no longer interested in theories or promises but in concrete actions that can alleviate their suffering and improve their standard of living.
