Don’t plunge UNICAL into further crisis with your anti-students policies — Attah Tells Florence Obi
The Cross River State chairman of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Comrade Anthony Bissong Attah, has called Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof Florence Obi to immediately reverse and/or review the anti students policies made by her administration that are capable of plunging the school into further crises.
Attah, in a post on his Facebook account obtained by NEWS WEEK NIGERIA, reacted to the purported withdrawal of over 860 students from the school.

The IPAC chairman who described the development as strange noted that the decision is coming at a time when families are undergoing unaccustomed financial pressures. “The supposed citadel of higher learning is fast becoming a theatre of uncertainties with many students contemplating suicide. The psychological implications of the foregoing on the general students’ population can only be imagined!”

“The last few months have been very rough and bumpy for most undergraduate students of the University of Calabar. From a haphazard and epileptic exams timetable/schedules to a long list of students purportedly withdrawn from the university.”
“These developments are not only strange but are coming at a time when families are undergoing unaccustomed financial pressures. The supposed citadel of higher learning is fast becoming a theatre of uncertainties with many students contemplating suicide. The psychological implications of the foregoing on the general students’ population can only be imagined!”
“Unfortunately, the Students Union Government that is meant to be a mouthpiece for the students is populated by puppets largely handpicked by university management.”

“I, therefore, call on the VC, Prof Florence Obi, to immediately reverse and/or review these anti students policies that are capable of plunging the school into further crises.”
Allow Nigerian students to breathe; don’t suffocate them.
