Deputy Health Minister Ayensu-Danquah Transforms Lives with Free Orthopedic Screening and Surgery Initiative
Deputy Health Minister and Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan, Hon. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, has continued to demonstrate that leadership goes beyond politics, with her latest initiative focused on empowering persons with disabilities.
On August 23, 2025, Dr. Ayensu-Danquah launched a “Free Orthopedic Screening and Surgery” program, an outreach designed to restore mobility, independence, and hope to vulnerable members of society.
The program attracted over 300 participants for health screenings, out of which 50 patients were scheduled for free orthopedic and plastic surgeries. Speaking during the event, she described the initiative as part of her lifelong mission to ensure that no one is left behind in accessing quality healthcare.
In addition to surgeries, Dr. Ayensu-Danquah distributed wheelchairs and walking aids to persons with disabilities, including beneficiaries such as Nana Aisha and Comfort Parker from Bakado and Anoe. The gesture, met with emotional gratitude, underscored the profound impact of compassion and care in transforming lives.
Quoting Matthew 10:8, she said: “We should heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons, because we received without paying, therefore, we should give without pay.”
