Cynthia Nkasi Deserves an Apology from Ukelle People — Onah Kingsley Speaks Out
Onah Kingsley, a constituent from Yala, has declared that the people of Ukelle owe former lawmaker Cynthia Nkasi an unreserved apology for what he described as their lack of appreciation for her contributions during her time in office.
Nkasi, who represented the Yala Two State Constituency, is remembered by many for her impactful grassroots initiatives and legislative work.

However, according to Kingsley, her efforts went largely unrecognized when it mattered most.

“Leaders who show a scorecard are not always given the opportunity to serve,” Kingsley lamented. “We have never had it this good. She was either working on the road or reaching out to the sick. She trained and empowered about 20 girls from Ukelle with sewing equipment.”

In a heartfelt message, Kingsley praised Nkasi’s community interventions — from installing a borehole in Ijiraga, to distributing food and financial aid during festive periods. According to him, students received JAMB forms, traditional rulers were supported, and women across the six wards of Ukelle were gifted wrappers and six cows.
“She empowered our brother with a car and demonstrated capacity beyond expectations,” he added. “My joy knows no bounds because while doing all this, she was still actively passing motions, resolutions, and bills.”

Describing Nkasi as humble and deeply committed, Kingsley emphasized that many of her efforts were done quietly, without seeking publicity.
“She understands that we, the Ukelle people, deserve more than she has done. I appreciate her not just for what she did publicly, but also for what she did quietly, without any announcement,” he wrote.

Kingsley concluded with a sober reflection on the political reality in the region.
“I stand on behalf of the people of Ukelle to pray God continues to bless her for all she did in just four years of her reign and to give her the intellectual sagacity and political savvy to continue. The few things I mentioned, out of the many she did, deserve our prayers and support — but instead, we pushed her away. I think Cynthia Nkasi needs an apology from the people of Ukelle. The ones who show a scorecard are never given the opportunity to serve.”
