Represented by the First Lady of Ikom Local Government Area, Barr. Mrs. Gloria Nsor, the First Lady, said that every child has a right to enjoy all benefits that their counterparts across the globe enjoy, and as such, the administration of His Excellency, Apostle Sen. [Prince] Bassey Edet Otu will keep playing pivotal roles in building the confidence of the children to achieve their aspirations.

“Today, we gather to celebrate the joy, innocence, and potential of our children. The theme resonates deeply, reminding us of our collective responsibility to ensure every child enjoys their fundamental human rights.

As a Government, we have already prioritized Education, making sure it’s all-inclusive, all-encompassing, and well-articulated to safeguard the future of our children.

In the area of Healthcare, we have designed a routine for our children to ensure that there’s adequate healthcare, nutrition, and a safe environment that supports their physical and emotional well-being.

We will continue to emphasize Child Protection: We must safeguard our children from harm, abuse, and exploitation, providing them with a secure and nurturing environment.

In the area of inclusive Participation, we will keep Encouraging our children to express themselves and contribute to decision-making processes as this is crucial for their development, empowerment, and well-being.

I wish to use this medium to thank Her Excellency, Bishop Mrs. Eyoanwan Edet Otu, the first lady and wife of our amiable Governor who would have loved to be with us on this auspicious day but despite her unavoidable absence provided the needed resources that have facilitated our children’s day celebration party, she has asked me to tell you all to enjoy yourselves and always have it in mind that she’ll continue to love and care for you her children, just as every loving mother would do.”

Barr. Nsor further thanked the Chairman of the Council, Hon. Pst. [Mrs], on whose leadership the voices of children are being heard and their crafts celebrated.

We must come together to empower our children to achieve the theme; “For Every Child, Every Right.”
