Hon. The event was aimed at expressing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In his remarks, Akpanke praised both President Tinubu and Governor Otu for what he described as their “dedication to governance,” highlighting the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road project and various road rehabilitation efforts across Cross River State.

“Governor Otu has shown exceptional dedication to governance, especially in infrastructure. Roads in several parts of the state have been repaired. He has truly proven himself as a democrat,” Akpanke stated.

He also emphasized his commitment to supporting initiatives that would improve the lives of Nigerians and advance development at both state and national levels.

“I am up and in support of anything that will move the state and the nation forward,” he said.

Chairman of the Cross River APC caucus, Senator Eteng Williams, also spoke at the event. He noted that although the next general election is two years away, the early endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Otu was meant to allow them to focus on governance without distractions.
