The funds were reportedly given to the party during the last rerun elections held in the state.

Under the aegis of “Concerned PDP Members,” the group is demanding that the State Chairman, Vena Ikem, provide a detailed account of the party’s finances.

The group is also seeking transparency, specifically regarding the donation from Governor Eno and how the money has been spent.

In a statement signed by Chris Edadi, the State Financial Secretary, the group called for a full financial report, covering both income and expenditures since Ikem’s tenure began.

The group also demanded the immediate refund of another N15 million. He tagged “20% processing fee,” an amount he imposed on all contestants in the just concluded ward and chapter congresses.

WE CANNOT IGNORE OUR LEADERS: A CALL TO SUSPEND THE VENA MUST GO PROTEST.

We wish to thank Sen Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, Sen Prof Sandy Onor, Hon Godwin offiono MHR, Hon Peter Akpanke MHR, and several other stakeholders for their intervention in the ongoing VENAMUSTGO agitation.

We have carefully looked into your appeal and have consulted appropriately.

After extensive consultations with all aggrieved members of our party, we have decided to suspend the proposed VENAMUSTGO protest scheduled for 13th September 2024.

The suspension of the protest is to give our leaders time to interface with Barr Venatius Ikem , the current state chairman of the PDP, and address the following issues.

1. Barr. Venatius Ikem should present a statement of account of all monies realised in the sales of intent and nomination forms in the Gov Ayade aborted local government elections.

2. Present a comprehensive statement of account of all the income and expenditure of the party from inception to date.

3. Refund the over 15 million naira he illegally tagged “20% processing fee,” an amount he imposed on all contestants in the just concluded ward and chapter congresses.

4. Revert to all concensus wards and chapters nominees/candidates in the Executive Committee list as presented by the various congress committees.

5. Pay all stipends due to members of the State Exco from the monthly intervention fund from Sen Jarigbe, Hon. Peter . Akpanke, Hon. Godwin Offiono, and the State House of Assembly members to the state chapter of the party.

6. Give a detailed account of the 100m naira donated to the party in Cross River State by HE, Uno Enoh, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, during the last rerun elections.

7. Give accurate details of the state of our secretariat at the Murtala Muhammed Highway, Calabar.

8. Explain why, as a sitting state chairman of our party, he evicted himself from the State Working Committee Whatsapp group and replaced with the Admin Secretary thereby making her an illegal member of the SWC.

9. His over engagement in social media activities thereby reducing the dignity of the office of state chairman.

10. State chairman should outline our party work plan towards the restoration of the lost glory of the party. Especially as it concerns the forth coming local government elections in the state

Thank you
