As part of the Calabar Carnival 2024, the Cross River State Government in collaboration with UNFPA, implementing partners and donors has launched a medical outreach program to provide free health services to the public.
The program, flagged off by Dr. Henry Egbe, Commissioner for Health, Cross River State, aims to promote healthy living and provide access to quality healthcare services.

The event, held at the Calabar Municipality Local Government, was attended by Special Assistant, Coco-Bassey Esu;,Dr Charles Iwara, DG SACA, Dr. Andrew Kirima, Head of Office/Programme Coordinator, UNFPA Cross River Sub-Office; Dr. Oke Jonah, Adolescent SRH/HIV Analyst at UNFPA; implementing partners and donors.
The medical outreach program offers a wide range of free health services, including:-
Malaria Testing, Tuberculosis (TB) testing and treatment,Family planning services, Condom distribution, Blood sugar testing (Diabetes screening),HIV testing and counseling,Hepatitis screening, Free medical consultation, Cervical cancer screening, Childhood vaccinations, Blood Pressure and Body Mass Index (BMI) check, Referral services for specialized care. .
