CNPP Mourns with Commissioner Oden Ewa Over Father’s Death
The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has extended its heartfelt condolences to the Cross River State Commissioner for Special Duties, Oden Ewa, following the passing of his father, Professor Ibiang Oden Ewa.
In a statement made available to News Week Nigeria, the CNPP expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing the late Professor Ewa as an “amiable” and respected figure.

The CNPP acknowledged the pain and trauma that comes with such a loss and encouraged the commissioner to find strength in his father’s legacy.
“The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) received with utmost shock the sad news of the demise of your beloved father, Professor Ibiang Oden Ewa,” the statement read.
“We are deeply saddened by this painful and inevitable incident, knowing that death often comes with shock and sorrow to the living.”

As a body committed to promoting unity and good governance across party lines, the CNPP said it stands with Commissioner Ewa during this time of mourning. The group, highlighting its Christian faith, also shared words of spiritual comfort.
“As Christians who believe in the rapture, we enjoin you to take heart and be expectant that your beloved father shall resurrect at the sound of the trumpet. At the moment, please be consoled by Dad’s legacies, for which we pray God will endow you with the strength to immortalize him.”
Professor Ibiang Oden Ewa is remembered for his impactful life and contributions to education and community development. Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
