“Child of the Poorest Man in Nigeria Can Now Go to School Without Borrowing” — APC Chairman Boasts of Tinubu’s Achievements Ahead of 2027
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that no opposition party, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stands a chance of unseating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Yilwatda made the declaration on Tuesday while addressing members of the APC League of Professionals who paid a solidarity visit to the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

He pointed to what he described as landmark achievements of the Tinubu administration under the “Renewed Hope Agenda” as key reasons the ruling party would retain power.
“The child of the poorest man in Nigeria can now go to school to the peak without borrowing from anywhere,” Yilwatda said. “This is the only time we’ve had that in the history of Nigeria.”
The APC chairman praised the student loan scheme launched by the federal government, alongside a series of youth-focused empowerment programs, as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to uplifting ordinary Nigerians. He also cited a N1.5 billion investment into the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) aimed at empowering young people interested in agriculture.

According to Yilwatda, these initiatives are part of the broader strategy to close economic gaps and create opportunities for Nigeria’s youth.
“Never before have we had this opportunity,” he continued. “The youth fund is being given to the youth. No other government has done this. I can tell you that the opportunity for young people is right under our President.”
The former governorship candidate in Plateau State assured party loyalists that the APC would win across all levels in 2027—from the presidency to governorships and the national and state assemblies. He described himself as a “bridge between the old and the young,” pledging to mobilize support across demographics to secure victory.

“Our manifesto targets people like you. The Renewed Hope Agenda targets people like you,” he told the crowd. “And I look forward to working with you to ensure that 2027 will deliver the President, the Governors, the Senators, the House of Assemblies and the House of Representatives members.”
Also speaking at the event, Hon. Marlin Daniel, the pioneer secretary of the Bayelsa State APC chapter, commended President Tinubu and the Progressive Governors Forum, led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, for appointing Yilwatda as the party’s national chairman.
He expressed confidence in Yilwatda’s capacity to steer the APC to electoral success, describing him as a seasoned technocrat and politician with a proven track record.
