Trump Backs Plot to Stop Tinubu’s Re-Election, Coalition Plans to Use U.S. Against Nigerian President

Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a stern warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, revealing what he describes as a complex web of international and domestic threats that could derail the president’s second-term ambition.

Speaking during the public unveiling of the 31st edition of his annual prophecy book “Warnings to the Nations (2025/2026)”, Ayodele claimed that former U.S. President Donald Trump is among those who want Tinubu removed from office, and that an emerging political coalition is prepared to enlist the help of the United States government in fighting Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Ayodele outlined a slew of challenges Tinubu must confront if he hopes to retain power in 2027. Chief among them are worsening economic conditions, persistent insecurity, and internal sabotage by his own political allies.

“Those around Tinubu today are the same people who smiled with him before the 2023 elections, but they will kill his second-term ambition,” Ayodele warned. “His economic advisers will be his biggest problem as Nigerians continue to grapple with hardship. The issue of insecurity will also grow worse if not handled properly.”

The cleric also cautioned against President Tinubu replicating his Lagos State leadership model on a national scale, urging him to seek divine guidance and rethink his political strategy.

Tinubu has the capacity to solve Nigeria’s problems, but he must not run the country as he did Lagos. If he continues on that path, it will fail. The people surrounding him are not friends, they are enemies,” he said.

Touching on potential political alliances, Ayodele warned that naming Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as Tinubu’s running mate in 2027 would be a grave mistake. He also criticized the current makeup of the opposition coalition, suggesting that the inclusion of three unnamed politicians could lead to its collapse.

He further predicted a serious threat from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, should they form a united front.

Atiku and Obi are very serious. If they come together, they can defeat Tinubu,” he said.

On internal party affairs, Ayodele warned that the APC’s major crisis will begin after its next national convention and advised that the party postpone it to avert chaos.

He also raised security concerns, urging authorities to heighten vigilance in Benue and Plateau states amid intelligence of planned attacks.

“Bandits are plotting large-scale attacks in Benue and Plateau. Security agencies must act now. We must also pray to avert bombings and shootings, especially in Kano,” he added.

During the launch event, Ayodele also honored journalists, including Vera Wisdom of The Sun, for their contributions to media and society.
