A three-story building has collapsed in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
A three-story building has collapsed in Nta Eke Street by Effio Ette in Ikot Ishie.
According to an eyewitness, Archibong said one of the workers has been rescued, while efforts are still being made to extract the remaining workers from the rubble.
Information obtained by News Week Nigeria, gathered that Hon. Stanley Nsemo, the member-elect for the Calabar Municipal State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, sprang into action right away to rescue the situation by supplying an excavator and supplies, and he also worked with the Ministry of Health to provide an ambulance to transport survivors to the hospital.
Additionally, it is asserted that poor construction practises and weak foundations may have contributed to the building’s untimely collapse.
