BREAKING: Supreme Court grants LGA financial autonomy, directs FG to pay allocations to LGA accounts
The Supreme Court has granted local government financial autonomy, directing the federal government to henceforth, pay allocation meant for the 774 local government directly to their respective accounts.
Delivering judgment in the suit on Thursday, a seven-member panel of justices held that state governments have continued to abuse their powers by retaining and using the funds meant for LGAs.
