Former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, narrowly escaped being attacked by a group of hungry protesters on Monday.

 

Reacting to the situation, Sani took to his verified X account to advise Senate President Godswill Akpabio to avoid the protest route to prevent potential embarrassment.

He wrote: “I just passed a group of protesters in Wuse 2,carrying placards against ‘hunger in the land’.Some ladies among them recognized me and shouted “No be that Afro Senator be that”,I answered “yes na me the former former Senator”;then they responded “Oya pass”.Make Akpabio no pass there o.”

 

He recounted how some of the protesters recognized him and allowed him to pass after confirming his identity.

 

Continuing, Sani wrote: “The government is telling people that cholera is coming through the window and that the people are telling the government that hunger is coming through the door.”
